From www.ttrbands.com, under the Band Ensembles drop-down list, select Marching. This should bring you to the Marching Band’s webpage (which is still under construction). I have posted a video of photos taken during last Friday’s Band Camp evening. Enjoy!

Hello Everyone!

Tomorrow is the beginning of our second week of Band Camp. The kids were doing such a great job on Friday while I visited to take some pictures. It’s pretty impressive how well they are marching the drill considering they’d only been at it for two days. This band is going to do great things this year.

Parents: If you’re picking your kids up at 8:00 pm this week and if you get to the school campus a few minutes early….stop by the football field to watch the makings of the Titan Thunder Regiment Marching Band!

Don’t forget the Informance this Friday! Make plans to get to the school in time to watch their premier performance.

Students: Don’t forget your sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, water/drinks and dot book!

Why Marching Band? For those of you coming into the school that haven’t experienced marching band yet, you are going to have a great time. This is one of the most rewarding activities in which you can participate. This last year we had a very successful year of marching band competition. We took first place in our division in four out of five competitions, including being named Division 1 California State Band Champions.

This year’s show is entitled Polovetsian Dances and features the music of Alexander Borodin. Quite exciting for us is that we are having our music written specifically for us this year. Brad Pearson is the name of the Arranger who is writing our show.

We will have a change in the marching band class this year. Students will still get credit, but the class will no longer be zero period (Yay! Sleeping in for some of us!). Instead, we will meet twice a week in the evenings. We will keep the Thursday rehearsal from 6-8 as we did in the past. We will be adding one rehearsal from 5-8 on either Monday or Tuesday. We will need to work around the football schedule to determine which day.

Marching Band season begins with band camp on July 28 and could end as late as December 6 if we qualify for the SCSBOA Championships. For vets that need to take the SAT’s in the fall. Please do so on October 4th. That test date has been kept clear for you to take the SAT then.  We will probably have performances on the other fall test days.
